The Embodied Way Connection

A Beautiful Space for You

We all need a sanctuary, a place to go when life feels like an arctic cyclone. We all need a place where we are understood, valued, respected and appreciated. We all need a place where we can take our mask off and be ourselves. We all need a space that helps us feel open, creative, and relaxed. A place of no judgement and of support.

That’s what my goal is at The Embodied Way. To give you and me that space. It’s how we will move through the challenges of the day and connect to each other. We all deserve it.

Welcome to The Embodied Way and to 2026.

Notes from Glenda

Back in the summer of 2010 I found myself in one of the biggest crisis of my life. My marriage of fifteen years came to a nasty ending and I was left wondering who I was and how I got there.

It didn’t feel good (an understatement), but I think sometimes that is the usefulness of a crisis. It forced me to redefine myself and to understand what it is that makes me genuinely myself...

Now that I have been a coach for over ten years, I think it is a useful practice to regularly check in on my levels of authenticity and to notice the influences I have in my life, and what beliefs and attitudes are shaping my days.

It’s important to stay in ‘observer’ mode when doing this and to stay in the present. That means I get curious and explore who I am now as if I am watching my own life without judgement. It’s amazing what you see and how good it feels to have this kind of clarity.

So what does it mean to be authentic? Authenticity is defined as: the quality of being genuine.

However, we are complex people and the different parts of ourselves express different aspects of our genuine experience. Knowing these different parts of ourselves is important because it helps us listen and respond according to what is true and what we are demonstrating. The goal is to align our actions with who we have decided we want to be and the values we hold dear..

Knowing the different parts of yourself gives you the ability to be patient, attentive, curious and kind to yourself. Furthermore, this understanding increases the amount of clarity you have. Clarity is very important for the regulation of the nervous system, and clarity will give you the confidence to take the actions which are right for you.

This January I have a little bonus gift for you. This is a workbook I have developed for myself and my clients to explore their authenticity. There are several ways to use it. Simply use it as a journal type exploration, or share it with a trusted friend and answer the prompts with each other. Notice how it feels to have this kind of conversation! You can download it HERE

PS The workbook is a fillable PDF that you can type directly in.

Product of the Month

Part of being authentic means supporting my skin to look and feel its best, so that I can shine through. It’s not about looking perfect, it’s about ensuring I am giving my skin the nourishment it needs to do its job and help me feel good.

One of my favourite pieces of feedback I get after someone has a facial is how SOFT their skin feels, so much so that they want everyone else to feel it. This is a moment of connection to ourselves and others. Our skin is our own unique, authentic packaging!

This month, my favourite product is the Laboratoire Dr. Renaud Omega-3 Serum. This is a winter-time dream for the skin. It smells delicious, it feels delicious. it’s like the taste of a cookie fresh from the oven for your skin. Comforting, soothing, a homecoming. What a treat!

Formulated with Inca-Inchi and argan oils, plus caper extract, it strengthens the skin barrier and improves comfort without leaving a greasy feel. Its light texture absorbs quickly, leaving skin soft and rested.

Not only is this serum available for at home use, I also frequently use it in my Oxygenating Fundamental Facials (my 20-step signature facial).

You can get this serum in studio or online HERE. Please enter The Embodied Way in the drop down menu in your cart where it says 'Which institute or spa do you frequent?

The Giving Corner

Each month, I give a portion of my income from The Embodied Way to help others or support a charitable cause. I have not shared this before as it’s a relatively ‘renewed’ practice that I want to be consistent with. By writing about who I choose, it will help me stay on track with this commitment.

This month, I am going to support our local foodbank. I used to support the Mill Bay Foodbank regularly when I lived down island. It was easy to add a donation amount to my grocery bill at the check out at Thrifty’s. The Mill Bay Foodbank loved cash gifts because then they could purchase what they knew their clientele needed and wanted.

Everyone deserves good, healthy food and with costs these days…well we all know not everyone has access to enough food. If you feel called, please join me this month in supporting our local food bank by using this LINK.
