A Beautiful Space for You
For those of you who are new to The Embodied Way…Welcome! I send this newsletter out once per month, usually mid-month. You are always welcome to unsubscribe, which you can do at the bottom of this newsletter. My intention is to provide more value to you, when it comes to your life and your skin without being an annoying nuisance in your inbox! Thank you for being a client and for spreading the word about The Embodied Way:)
This month, I am emphasizing the importance of recalling what is pleasant and enjoyable. It’s about taking some time to notice and acknowledge the small moments and things of life. For me, it's way too easy to get bogged down in the big events of life, when really it is the smaller moments that make up the majority of our days. When I can appreciate the small things, I am more grounded, calm and happy.
May you enjoy some small, sweet moments each day in the coming month. See you soon at The Embodied Way.
Notes from Glenda
A light and breezy summer issue is here. I started off writing something really heavy, because life has been heavy…but I realize what I need is some light and goodness.
Enjoying, savouring, experiencing, playing and connecting, reading, watching, listening, tasting, and a must do before summer ends… Isn’t that what summer is for, after all? I will give you my list of ways I am savouring summer, and perhaps you will be inspired to reflect on your own list (everytime we recall the pleasant things or moments, we get to experience them again. This doubles our pleasure).
It's easy to double your pleasure... and savour your summer. Here's my list. You can use the same headings for your own recollections).
Enjoying: My balcony which I have filled with plants and flowers, including some herbs which I am using frequently in my summer meals. Cherry tomatoes ready soon! Long light-filled days and evening walks/hikes.
Savouring: Ice cream at Goose spit watching the sun set. The patio door and windows open for the fresh air to flow through at night. The rain.
Experiencing: The connection between my son, my daughter and myself as we help my son navigate a break up with his long term partner.
Experimenting: How to care for my mid-life body and its changing needs.
Playing: Being in Vancouver during FIFA and catching the vibe of a lot of people excited about the World Cup.
Connecting: With you, my clients…always a highlight for me. With my husband on our various adventures. With nature.
Reading: Land by Maggie O’Farrell…hitting the sweet spot for my Irish roots. Same as Ever by Morgan Housel (one of the most grounding books I have read in a while).
Watching: Curb Your Enthusiasm (Crave). Toy Story 5 (funny and poignant).
Listening: Island Crime Season 9. I love this podcast!
Tasting: Warba potatoes, carrots, and other goodies from Siefferts, cherries (everyday is a Cherry Day), pizza from Boonies (try the Olive Garden and add the balsamic reduction)
Must do before summer ends: Eat at The Filberg Summer Kitchen.
Service of the Month
Pure Kronoxyl-9 Complete Youth Skin Care
My best anti-aging treatment and recently reformulated to be even better than it was before.
If you have been feeling a loss of firmness, vitality and luminosity, then this facial is for you! The Pure Facial targets expression lines, surface and deep wrinkles, stimulates cell regeneration, and enhances radiance. The result? A bright, glowing skin that is toned, younger looking, smooth, and restored.
This 1.5 hour facial includes all the usual accouterments that you have become accustomed to when you have a facial with me (like a scalp and hand and arm massage). It is a cooling facial, so perfect for summer.
Complement your facial and get maximum results with the Pure Regene or the Pure Kronoxyl line of homecare products.
The Giving Corner
North Island Humane Society (formerly KittyKat Pals). I got my cat Pippy from KittyKat Pals. She is the best and I am not sure where my happiness would be without her keeping me company and entertained. I am so grateful for organizations that care for animals and help them find their people.
Quotes
"The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life." William Morris
"All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better." Ralph Waldo Emmerson
Endnotes
Enjoy the rest of July and first half of August. Due to one of the events in my life, I will be in and out of town in the coming months. If you don't see a time, please message me or call, as my schedule is going to be a bit odd. What you see online may not reflect my actual availability. I will have times available each week though so that I can look after each of you.
