The Embodied Way Connection
A Beautiful Space for You
October is a change month. We are watching nature shift, release, and prepare for winter. I feel the same way- what I decided to focus on in September is now starting to take shape as I make changes.
Even the studio is changing! A new room will be ready shortly which will bring in new practitioners to be a part of The Embodied Way. More ways to help you feel connected, confident, and cherished.
Notes from Glenda
Change is a normal part of the human experience and we need change to grow, heal and thrive. Change can release you from what is old or unhelpful and move you towards what you want- if you let it.
Change can feel unsettling, especially when change is unwanted. When change is wanted, finding a consistent, new rhythm can be a thing. So, change can be a catch-22. We need it and want it but we often don’t enjoy it or know how to stick with it!
What do you do then? How can you trust the process of change so you can get to either a place of peace with an unwanted change, or make a change you want stick?
Here are a few principles for CHANGE which will go a long way to help you:
Make room for the resistance. It tells you important information- like old beliefs that are stopping you
Realize and accept change is normal. Everything changes all the time and acceptance of change will make it easier to be flexible and navigate your way
Connect with what motivates you. Be in touch with why you want change and what will be better when the change happens. It will inspire you to keep going when you don’t feel like it
Build on the rewards. Savour the milestones and enjoy the fruits of your labours
Practice patience, self-compassion, and kindness. Everyone needs just a little more grace, especially if there are big changes afoot
Allow yourself space and downtime. Especially if you are adjusting to uninvited or unwanted changes. There might be grief, disappointment, frustration, and difficulties as a result of change
Get the support you need. Don’t place unreasonable expectations on yourself to handle everything by yourself. Whether the change is unwanted or desired- personal and/or professional support will give you much better outcomes
One change that is fun and easy to make is the skin care cream you choose to use.
Our skin gets a bit bored of the same thing over and over. Additionally, changing seasons (in nature and life) means your skin needs different things at different times. If you haven’t changed your skincare routine in a while then October is the perfect time.
Why not book a facial for a skin and soul refresh, and then pick a delicious cream to nourish and support your skin (and you)? Treating the skin to a change is one of the simplest and most pleasurable things you can do.

It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.

Issue #26 The Embodied Way Connection A Beautiful Space for You Why did I name my esthetics and coaching studio The Embodied Way? What even is embodiment and why do I think it matters? What is our soma? All of these questions I will answer in this month’s newsletter! I believe an esthetics service should be more than what is generally found in the big, wide world. I also believe coaching should be and feel very different from ‘talk therapy’ or general life or executive coaching. When I...
