The Embodied Way Connection
A Beautiful Space for You
In 2018, I had the pleasure of visiting Bath in the UK, where we visited the historic Roman baths. It's a fascinating location used throughout the centuries for worship, bathing, healing, and social connection. It is no longer used in these ways but is a historical site where we can learn about the people and practices of the past.
What this historical place tells me is that beauty and healing have always gone hand-in-hand. It also speaks to the importance of community and connection in a person's life. When we combine connection, self-care practices, and healing rituals- we embody health and well-being sustainably and for the long term.
That's what I have created for you here at The Embodied Way and I look forward to continuing to serve you.
Notes from Glenda
There’s a huge trend in the world of beauty- botox and filler injections. Although it’s a new trend among women and men of all ages, fighting aging is not a new theme.
I object to the practice of fillers and botox. That is not only because of the risks involved or how people start to look the same. I object because fillers and the obsession with anti-aging tell a negative story. A story that aging is bad. A story that says a face that shows life and emotion is shameful and that eternal youth is all that matters.
I know many celebrities feel the need to enhance their looks as they age, and I understand the fear that may drive them to do so. I am thankful for people like Jamie Lee Curtis who have decided to let their faces and their bodies tell a different kind of story as they age. We can be fit, energetic and beautiful without altering our lovely selves.
I prefer to see myself as way more than my wrinkles or my scars! I prefer to care for my outside package with healthy botanicals and life practices. That’s how to bring out the glow that makes you see a fresh, beautiful face in the mirror- no matter your age.
I believe how we treat ourselves on the outside should reflect how we see ourselves on the inside. Taking care of ourselves is a healthy practice and doing it for the right reasons is paramount. Are you focused on what's ‘wrong with you’? Or are you affirming unconditional, positive self-regard?
When I got into the beauty industry and started doing facials, I felt conflicted. I didn't want my business to reflect the shallow, often damaging values of the industry. I decided that skin and body care should always be about nourishment. Nourishment of the inside and the outside. Beauty on the inside makes beauty on the outside.
This criteria has served me well. I have connections with some of the most beautiful, regular, everyday people. If you are reading this, you are one of those people!
Together, through skin and body and mind care, we face the ups and downs of life. My space is a sanctuary where you don’t have to feel like you have anything to prove or fix. I accept, value and appreciate as you are (wrinkles, scars and all). The products I choose to use show respect for the person, the earth and our communities.
I take care of my skin because it feels delicious. By taking care of myself with good skincare and facials, I have the energy to face the day- even when I am not feeling my best. This is what I hope for you too. To enjoy the simple, wholesome, non-addictive pleasures that make life rich and beautiful.
Simple, non-addictive, wholesome pleasures, self-care and unconditional positive regard regulate the nervous system. Guess what? A regulated and resourced nervous system is the key to looking fresh and healthy- no matter our age.
Are ready for a different take on beauty? One that is inclusive, non-judgemental (even if you’ve had fillers or botox) and accepting? If so, then book a facial, coaching or other body care with me. Let's nourish you from the outside in and the inside out! You can book HERE

Issue #26 The Embodied Way Connection A Beautiful Space for You Why did I name my esthetics and coaching studio The Embodied Way? What even is embodiment and why do I think it matters? What is our soma? All of these questions I will answer in this month’s newsletter! I believe an esthetics service should be more than what is generally found in the big, wide world. I also believe coaching should be and feel very different from ‘talk therapy’ or general life or executive coaching. When I...
